New Measurement Form.

Boats that do not have a Measurement Certificate need to be measured prior to competing in State or National Titles. The Class Rules and the Measurement Form associated with this process are available for download. As the rules have recently changed to allow one piece masts, please get the latest versions by following these instructions:

Here are some instructions about how to get hold of Mirror measurement rules, forms and the Equipment Rules of Sailing (ERS) from the ISAF site in case you haven't tracked them down yet. Note the the ERS is an essential reference document, our rules cannot be properly understood unless you know what the definitions of ERS terms (any words in bold type) are.

As we are administered by ISAF all our rules and measurement forms are published on the ISAF web site. You should always use the ISAF site to ensure you get the current information (as some may have found Mirror web sites may have old versions). The rules are published using Adobe Acrobat as .pdf files, so you need an Acrobat reader plugin (which most people already have, but if not you can get for free from http://www.adobe.com and there are links on the ISAF website to the Adobe site)

Here are instructions to where the rules and so on are found;

 1. Go to the ISAF site http://www.sailing.org/

 2. From the Menu bar at the top (Making Waves, News, Organisation,....) put your cursor on "Rules" and and a drop down menu will appear. Select "Technical" from the drop down, this will load the ISAF Technical Microsite in a new window.

 For Class Rules

 3. From the ISAF Technical Microsite under the heading "Class Rules" select "Current Class Rules"

 4. From the "Current Class Rules" page select "Centreboard Boats"

 5. From the "Centreboard Boats" page select "Mirror" from the left hand column in the list of classes.

 6. A PDF file will load in a seperate window which you can save to your own computer (by using the disk icon in the Adobe toolbar) or print.

It is better to use the above procedure, rather than just follow a link to the .pdf file (for example http://www.sailing.org/classes/classrules/2006/MIR2006_CR_260406.PDF  ) since ISAF may update the .pdf file to correct a mistake etc in which case the name of the file will change and you could end up picking up an uncorrected version.

For Measurement Forms

 3. From the ISAF Technical Microsite select the heading "Measurement"

 4. From the measurement page, under the heading "Measurement Forms" select "Mirror Class Measurement Form"

5. A PDF file will load in a seperate window which you can save to your own computer (by using the disk icon in the Adobe toolbar) or print.

For the Equipment Rules of Sailing (which contains definitions of measurement terms and measurement points which appear in the rules in bold type and is essential reading to understand the class rules)

 3. From the ISAF Technical Microsite select the heading "ISAF Equipment Rules of Sailing"

 4. From the ISAF Equipment Rules of Sailing page, select the current edition from the list (2005-2008 at present).

 5. A PDF file will load in a separate window which you can save to your own computer (by using the disk icon in the Adobe toolbar) or print.
