Mirror Worlds Newsletter No 1

13 October 2009

Dear Mirror Sailors,

Welcome to the first newsletter of the 2011 Mirror Worlds! This will be the first of many regular updates as we get closer to the Event. Both this newsletter and the website will keep you up to date with information and planning related to the 2011 Mirror Worlds.

The Organising Committee is now meeting regularly and we have a strong team of volunteers and partners to bring about what we expect to be an amazing racing and social program. We have also taken on advice received in Wales from prospective competitors and we are aiming to provide competitors with a range of accommodation options through our Event Partner Stay Now.

We are pleased to report that we have started to receive our first international bookings and we encourage competitors to get in early. Furthermore, we are sourcing contacts for Campervans at the request of the Irish and have already secured a very cost effective campsite. These details will be posted to the website and you will be advised in a future newsletter when we have finalised these negotiations. We will soon be finalising our transport logistic arrangements to cover container movements in Australia and these details will be made to Logistics Coordinators in relevant countries.

Finally, we have a strong start to registrations to our expressions of interest facility on the website. Please tell us your plans to assist us with our planning. It also will help us with securing funding to help run this Event. So please circulate this newsletter to your sailing friends and encourage them to make some early decisions to come and Sail Down Under (or West for those on the other side of the Nullabor). Should you have any questions, please email info@mirrorworlds2011.com.

On behalf of the Organising Committee we look forward to seeing you in Albany.

Regards
Anthony Galante
Event Director
